RSF nominates imprisoned Moroccan journalist
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced the list of candidates for the 2018 Press Freedom Prize. RSF included Moroccan journalist Hamid El Mahdaoui, the founder and editor-in-chief of the Badil.info news website, on its “Courageous Journalism List.” El Mahdaoui was sentenced to three years in jail for “failing to report a felony affecting state security.”
The most recent list of candidates for the award includes 12 journalists from The Guardian, the BBC and press freedom organizations.
